5th Australian Division

The Division was formed in Egypt in February 1916 from the 8th Brigade from Australia and the 14th and 15th Brigades which had been formed in Egypt from the 1st and 2nd Brigades (see notes on 1st Division). The Division sailed for France June 1916. Served in France and Flanders until the Armistice.
