Here are some side views of "Smolensk", an AMX 30 that I encountered.

A close-up of the driver's area from the left side. The bumper insignia looks to be a 1 over an 11 on the left side of a standard NATO armor symbol with either a 3 or B on the right side. This would seem to confirm my vague recollection that Smolensk was from a unit assigned to Berlin since the 11ère Regiment de Cuirassier was based there. Can anybody explain French tactical markings to me at sturmvogel@usa.net?

Here's a picture of an AMX-10PC command vehicle. The good amount of upper deck detail is visible as I was standing on top of my Bradley when I took it. Unfortunately the license number and tactical insignia are illegible in my original print. Note the vehicle is missing its right headlight.

Here's a picture of a tracked Roland that I encountered by the side of the road during maneuvers. It's hard to tell, but the red blob on the vehicle's right fender seems to be square in shape. The first four digits of its license number are 6824 - ? The symbol on the left fender seems to be a symbol for an armored ADA unit, but details, and the unit designations, are unreadable. It's enclosed in a thin red diamond that can barely be made out.
